I was recently treated to an amazing holiday in Bali by my handsome other half - and it was one of the most intriguing, fun & relaxing holidays I've been lucky enough to experience in quite a while. It was bliss to wake up each morning knowing you had the whole day to do whatever you pleased.
I've never really prioritised travel on my long to-do list, but this trip made me realise how much I'd like to grow by immersing myself in and experiencing other cultures. I think my wanderlust has been ignited.
We started on a little island called Lombok, which isn't actually a part of Bali. It is much less developed than Bali, the trip from the Airport to our hotel was definitely very eye-opening. We stayed at the Novotel there (the landscape picture below is the beach out the front of the hotel). We stuck to the hotel to relax / eat for the first few days (I must admit, I was very scared of Bali Belly) but ventured out to the local town our last few nights, and we regretted not doing it sooner. The food was delicious, so cheap & the people were all so friendly.
We then ventured to Nusa Lembongan, an island around a 30 minute boat-ride from Sanua in Bali, and spent three amazing days there (I may have had a little too much fun at happy hour on our last night..) On Lembongan we stayed at the Villa Atas, and it was absolutely perfect. Once we arrived the manager & his staff were already waiting to help us with our bags up to the Villa (LOTS OF STAIRS...) it had a little plunge pool out the front, which was absolute heaven after walking up said stairs, the view we woke up to felt like a dream, and their service couldn't be faulted, I would definitely recommend.
All in all, I feel so blessed to have been able to experience a trip like this (BIG THANK YOU TO MY LOVER) and truly can't wait to explore more of the world.
